
Four MCCAA Teams Appear in NJCAA Division II Men's Basketball Preseason Poll
Preseason basketball rankings were released by the NJCAA on Monday (Oct. 21) and four MCCAA Men's Basketball programs were featured in the Top 25. After going 31-4 overall and winning the Eastern Conference, MCCAA and Great Lakes District B Championship, Macomb Community College leads all association schools as the preseason No. 4 ranked team in the country.
The Monarchs have qualified for the national tournament in back-to-back seasons and went to the national championship game in 2022-23.
Next up at No. 11 nationally is 2023-24 Great Lakes District C Champion, St. Clair County Community College. The Skippers finished last season with a 27-8 record overall and won a pair of games in Danville at the national tournament.
Bay College, last year's MCCAA Northern Conference Champion and Great Lakes District A finalist, checks in at No. 14 in the preseason poll after racking up a 27-5 record over the course of the 2023-24 season.
Kalamazoo Valley Community College rounds out the Top 25 MCCAA teams at No. 21 and garners preseason attention after a stellar 2023-24 campaign that resulted in a 24-7 record, a MCCAA Western Conference Championship and an appearance in the Great Lakes District B Championship.
