KVCC's Downs Makes Season Debut with MCCAA Western Conference Player of the Week Award

Brandon Downs, of Kalamazoo Valley Community College, is the MCCAA Western Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for the first time in 2023-24. He joins Joe Liedel (twice) as the Cougars to have earned this honor four times, and the second in back-to-back weeks.

A freshman guard out of Coldwater, Mich., Downs averaged 24.0 points while shooting 56.7 percent from the field in two games. He tallied a career-high 37 points against Southwestern Michigan College to help KVCC secure the Western Conference Championship. He added five assists and four steals.
