Schoolcraft men's basketball ranked fourth in NJCAA Division II pre-season poll.

The Schoolcraft College men's basketball team is ranked fourth in the NJCAA Division II pre-season poll that was released on Tuesday. The Ocelots finished last season with a 28-4 overall record and a won the MCCAA Eastern Conference with a 14-2 overall record. They won the NJCAA Great Lakes District B Championship and qualified for the NJCAA Division II National Championship. The tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Muskegon Community College is ranked fifth in the poll. The Jayhawks finished last season with a 26-4 overall record and a won the MCCAA Western Conference title with an 18-0 record. They won the MCCAA and NJCAA Great Lakes District A title. They qualified for the NJCAA Division II men's basketball National Championship but the tournament was canceled. 

Mott Community College is ranked 12th in the pre-season poll. The Bears finished with a 23-9 ovarall record and 10-6 in the 10-6 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. 

St. Clair County Community College is ranked 18th in the poll. The Skippers finished last season with a 17-14 overall record and 9-7 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference. 

Grand Rapids Community College is in the other schools receiving votes category in the rankings. The Raiders were 16-15 last season and 8-10 in the MCCAA Western Conference last year. 

Delta College is also in the other schools receiving votes category. The Pioneers were 14-16 last season and finished with a MCCAA Eastern Conference record of 7-9. 

Ancilla College rounds out the MCCAA teams in the other schools receiving votes category. The Chargers finished the 2019-20 campaign with a 21-8 overall record and a 13-5 MCCAA Western Conference mark. 

The MCCAA conference season is slated to kick off on Tuesday, February 9. Several schools have opted out of basketball. As with everything during this pandemic, all schedules are fluid.
