Ancilla College moves on to District Championship with a win over host Grand Rapids Community College

The Ancilla College men's basketball team is one win away from the NJCAA Division II National Championship after defeating Grand Rapids CC 78-59 in the NJCAA Division II Great Lakes West District Semi-Final on Friday. The Chargers never trailed in the game and had an 18 point lead at halftime.

Ancilla College as lead by Isiah James with 13 points and six rebounds, while Rico Swanson, Jr. added 12 points, six rebounds and four assists. Cortney Shorter chipped in 11 points and eight rebounds. Shak Johnson also had 11 points for the Chargers. 

The Raiders were led by Jaylen Williams with 14 points and three assists, while Johnny Davis has 12 points and 13 rebounds. Ryel Daye tossed in 12 points and seven rebounds, while Chandler Collins added 10 points. Grand Rapids season ends with a 16-15 record. 

Ancilla (21-7) advances to the NJCAA Division II Great Lakes West District Championship on Saturday at 5:30 PM against the winner of Kellogg Community College and Muskegon Community College.
