Trio of MCCAA Volleyball Programs Ranked to Begin 2024 Season

Following highly-successful 2023 campaigns, three MCCAA Volleyball programs—Delta College, Grand Rapids Community College and Lansing Community College—will open 2024 ranked nationally after the NJCAA released its volleyball preseason rankings on Monday (August 19).

Delta begins the 2024 campaign No. 7 in Division III, while Grand Rapids and Lansing check in at No. 14 and No. 20, respectively, in Division II.

All three programs reached their respective NJCAA National Championship Tournaments in 2023 with Delta earning an at-large bid to the Division III Championship. Grand Rapids and Lansing both earned an automatic bid to the NJCAA Division II National Championship after winning Great Lakes District Championships.

Delta is Division III's No. 7 preseason team after capping off a stellar 2023 campaign at 16-6 overall and a 9-3 mark in the MCCAA Northern Conference. The Pioneers went 2-2 at the national tournament, including picking up a first round victory.

Grand Rapids slots in 14th in Division II following a 2023 season that resulted in a 26-5 record overall and an unblemished 12-0 record in MCCAA Northern Conference play. The Raiders, a mainstay at the national tournament, won the MCCAA Northern Conference title, a MCCAA Championship and the Great Lakes District B Championship on their way to the program's latest NJCAA Division II National Championship appearance.

Lansing carries over its momentum from an impressive 2023 campaign that culminated with a berth to the NJCAA Division II National Championship. The Stars recorded the most wins in the MCCAA last year, going 30-5 overall and 11-1 in the MCCAA Western Conference. For their efforts, the Stars earned a MCCAA Western Conference title and a Great Lakes District A Championship last season.
