Jayhawks Venema topples two National Ranked wresters en route to MCCAA Wrestler of the Week honors

Muskegon Community College sophomore Kayleb Venema (Whitehall, MI/Whitehall) has been tabbed as the final MCCAA Wrestler of the Week. Venema went 3-0 at the NJCAA Great Lakes District Championship.
Muskegon's Robins earns MCCAA Wrestler of the Week honors

Muskegon Community College freshman Rice Robins (Holton, MI/Holton) had been tabbed as the MCCAA Wrestler of the Week. Robbins won the 165 pound division at the Jayhawk Open on Sunday.
Mott's Young tabbed as MCCAA Wrestler of the Week

Mott Community College sophomore wrestler Nate Young (Otisville, MI?Otisville-Lakeville) has been named MCCAA Wrestler of the Week. Young finished fourth in the very competitive 149 weight class at the MCCAA Wrestling Championship on Saturday in Port Huron.

It has been almost 30 years since a Southwestern Michigan College team competed in the MCCAA Wrestling Championship and their highest finish ever was runner up in the 1980 MCCAA Championship. Coincidentally, that was the last year the MCCAA sponsored wrestling until it came back in 2018.
Muskegon's Veltman earns MCCAA Wrestler of the Week honors

Muskegon Community College freshman wrestler Dakota Veltman (Bryon Center, MI/Byron Center) has been voted as MCCAA Wrestler of the Week. Veltman went 5-0 in at the MCCAA Duals helping the Jayhawks finish in second place with a 4-1 match record.
In first year back, Southwestern Michigan wrestling team wins annual MCCAA dual meet

It all came down to the last round of matches. Long time MCCAA powerhouse Muskegon Community College and Southwestern Michigan College, who are in their first season back after a 26-year hiatus, were both 4-0. Muskegon won the inaugural dual meet last year, while Southwestern Michigan College was working on building their team.
St. Clair's McKiernan earns MCCAA Wrestler of the Week Honors.

St. Clair County Community College freshman Kevin McKiernan (Richmond, MI/Richmond) has been selected as the MCCAA Wrestler of the Week. McKiernan went 4-0 on Saturday en route to winning the 184 pound weight class at the Hawks Invitational hosted by Henry Ford College.
Skipper's Colley earns MCCAA Wrestler of the Week honors

St. Clair County Community College freshman Jimmy Colley (Otisville, MI/Davison) has been named MCCAA Wrestler of the Week honors. Colley was perfect in the heavyweight division at the Olivet College duals on Saturday, winning all three matches.
Muskegon picked to repeat in as MCCAA Champions in coaches pre-season poll

The Michigan Community College Athletic Assoiciationn (MCCAA) coaches have picked the Muskegon Community College wrestling team to win their third straight title and fourth out of the five seasons since returning as a MCCAA sport. After one season of deciding the team champion at the MCCAA dual meet, it will be awarded to the team with the most points at the MCCAA Individual Championship.
Roadrunners' Edwards named MCCAA Wrestler of the Week

Southwestern Michigan College freshman wrestler Shane Edwards (Battle Creek, MI/Pennfield) has been selected as the MCCAA Wrestler of the Week. Edwards went 2-0 at the Adrian Duals winning by a fall against Ohio Northern University and a 5-2 decision against Adrian JV.
Livingston of Southwestern Michigan earns MCCAA Wrestler of the Week honors

Southwestern Michigan College freshman wrestler Gabe Livingston (Battle Creek, MI/Lakeview) has been selected as the MCCAA Wrestler of the Week. Livingston is 9-0 on the season with two first place finishes in the 133 pound weight class.
