Lansing Stars Earn Sweep of MCCAA Western Conference Softball Week Awards to Close 2024
Lansing Community College has earned a sweep of the final 2024 MCCAA Western Conference Softball weekly awards. Kyra Shadduck is the pitcher of the week while Stars teammate Jenna Morse is the player of the week.
A freshman out of Dewitt, Mich., Shadduck went 5-0 in the circle with a 0.50 earned-run average and 0.64 WHIP. She fanned 26 and walked just six batters in 28 innings of work. She also helped her own cause by hitting .444 with a home run and six runs batted in. She entered Region XII weekend with a 24-5 record, including 18-0 in conference play.
Morse, who is a sophomore hailing from Bay City, Mich., produced a .609/.627/.783 slashline with 15 runs batted in and seven stolen bases in six games. She also crossed the plate 10 times. She also had a perfect fielding percentage on 16 total chances.
