MCCAA to Crown Cross Country Conference Champions Friday
We're ready to crown conference champions! New this year, the MCCAA will crown men's and women's champions in the Eastern, Northern and Western conferences on Friday (Sept. 20) at various sites across the state.
What's at stake? The winning team in the women's 5K and men's 8K events will take home their respective conference championships, while the top individual runner from each race will earn the distinction of Conference Runner of the Year. All-Conference and All-Freshman Team honors also await the day's top finishers at each race.
Eastern Conference
Site: Baypoint Beach at Stony Creek Metropark (Shelby Twp., MI)
Time: Women's 5K at 11:00 a.m. | Men's 8K at 12:00 p.m.
Teams: Jackson, Oakland, Macomb, Mott, Schoolcraft, St. Clair County, Wayne County
Awards: Team Conference Championship, Runner of the Year, All-Conference Team (Top 14 Finishers), All-Freshman Team (Top 6 Freshman Finishers)
Northern Conference
Site: University Park Golf Course at Muskegon CC (Muskegon, MI)
Time: Men's 8K at 11:00 a.m. | Women's 5K at 11:45 a.m.
Teams: Alpena (men only), Bay, Kirtland, Mid Michigan, Montcalm, Muskegon, North Central Michigan
Awards: Team Conference Championship, Runner of the Year, All-Conference Team (Top 14 Men's Finishers, Top 12 Women's), All-Freshman Team (Top 6 Freshman Finishers)
Western Conference
Site: Grand Woods Park (Lansing, M)
Time: Women's 5K at 11:00 a.m. | Men's 8K at 11:45 a.m.
Teams: Grand Rapids, Kellogg, Lake Michigan, Lansing, Marian Ancilla, Southwestern Michigan
Awards: Team Conference Championship, Runner of the Year, All-Conference Team (Top 12 Finishers), All-Freshman Team (Top 6 Freshman Finishers)
