Grand Rapids, several others to battle for MCCAA men's cross country title on Saturday

After winning all three MCCAA cross country meets this season, the eighth ranked Grand Rapids Community College men's cross country team looks to be the leading contender for the MCCAA Championship on Saturday at Grand Woods Park. The Raiders will be looking for the fourth championship and first since 1969. Also in the battle of for the title are tenth ranked Jackson College, 17th ranked Macomb Community College and 19th ranked St. Clair County Community College. Of these teams only Jackson College, with two, has won a title in the history of the MCCAA. Who ever wins it will break the 23 year run of Lansing Community College, who opted out of the fall season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

On the individual side, Joshua Kipoech of Grand Rapids has won every MCCAA race this season, including one race by almost a minute and a half. Drew Mayes of St. Clair has finished second in every MCCAA meet this season. Also in contention should be, Andrew Frohm (Jackson), Brian Frazee (Kellogg), Nolan Herr (Mott), Jack Kehoe (Grand Rapids), Arron Greb and Collin McNulty (Macomb). The top nine finishers will earn All-MCCAA Honors.
