2023 All-MCCAA Men's Soccer Awards Announced

LANSING, Mich.--The Michigan Community College Athletic Association announced on Friday the All-MCCAA men's soccer awards, with MCCAA champion Schoolcraft College picking up two major awards and Grand Rapids Community College earning top billing for another.

Rick Larson is the coach of the year after steering Schoolcraft College to the conference crown with a 9-1 MCCAA mark as part of a 16-2 overall record. The nationally-ranked Ocelots, who also won the NJCAA Region XII championship, carry a 10-game winning streak into the national tournament.

Dante Davidson is the player of the year for the Ocelots after racking up Association highs of 29 goals and 66 points to also pace Division II in those categories. The sophomore forward out of Livonia also was the Region XII Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Grand Rapids Community College's Mohamed Tamour, a freshman striker from Wyoming High School, was right behind Davidson on the scoring charts. Tamour netted 24 goals and 54 points to rank second in both MCCAA categories. Nationally, he was second in goals scored and third in point scoring.
