Muskegon men's soccer falls in first pool play match in NJCAA Division I National Champions

The Muskegon Community College men's soccer team faced the number one ranked Monroe (NY) College in the first pool play game of the NJCAA Division I men's soccer Championship in Tyler, TX. The Jayhawks fell to the Mustangs 4-0 this morning. 

Leon Sitz scored for the Mustangs in the 23rd minute, on a pass from Jorge Diaz. The game remained 1-0 until the 78th minute when Sitz scored his second goal of the game. Monroe added goals in the 87th and 89th minutes to seal the victory. 

Muskegon, who are 16-4-0 overall, were held to just four shots in the match. They return to action tomorrow when the face second ranked, and eighth seeded, Iowa Western Community College at 11:00 AM EST. The Jayhawks need a win to keep their hopes of advancing alive.
