Oakland CC wins 2019 MCCAA Eastern Conference Golf Championship

The Oakland Community College men's golf team are the MCCAA Eastern Conference Champions for the second straight year. The Raiders shot a 1263 for the four rounds to finish 24 strokes ahead of second place Henry Ford College. Delta College finished third just four shot behind the Hawks and St. Clair County CC was fourth. Oakland shot rounds of 322, 314, 315 and 312 to take the title. 

Oakland's Collin Pajot was the Championship medalist with a 72 hole total 305 to finish five stokes ahead of Matthew Kosiba of Henry Ford College. Evan DeBruyne of St. Clair County Community College finished third, while Mike Saroli of Oakland was fourth. The top eight golfers and ties were named All-Eastern Conference. Also making the All-Conference team are Tommy Ottoy (Oakland), Nick Fisher (Delta), Joey Greenway (Kirtland), Tyler Campbell (Delta), Jack DeMara (St. Clair) and Alana Jones (Henry Ford). 

Jones becomes the first female in the 93 year history of the MCCAA to earn MCCAA All-Conference Golf honors.

St. Clair County CC's Evan DeBruyne was named MCCAA Eastern Conference Freshman of the Year as the top finisher among freshman in the tournament. DeBruyne shot a 312 for the four rounds. He also is part of the All-Freshman Team. Joining him on the team, were Campbell (Delta), Nolan Ehman (Oakland), Joseph Quiton (Henry Ford), Donnie Andrysiak (Henry Ford) and Andrew Nestor (Mott). The All-Freshman team is comprised of the top six freshman finishers in the four round event.
