Schoolcraft College claims MCCAA men's bowling title

The Schoolcraft College men's bowling team jumped out to a lead after the singles competition at the MCCAA Men's Bowling Championship on Thursday and never looked back claiming the title by 450 pins. Jackson College and St. Clair County jockeyed back and forth for most of the day for second with Jackson College finally claiming the runner up plaque by 21 pins over the Skippers. The event was held at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing, MI. 

In the double competition, Ethan May and Jonathan Garland won the title with a total of 1157 pins. May shot a 599 with a high game of 234, while Garland shot 558 with a high game of 215. Jose Gahns and Ian Conley of St. Clair County CC were second with 1129, and Jim Knorp and Josh Allen of Schoolcraft College were third with 1123.

In the singles championship, Collin Baldwin of Jackson College shot a 662 series with a high game of 244 to win the title. Alan Brown for Schoolcraft College was with 649, while Josh Allen of Schoolcraft College was third with 642. 

The all-events champions was also Baldwin with a 1741 for the eight game series, . Brown of Schoolcraft was second with 1617 and Gahns of St. Clair County CC was third with 1606. 

The All-MCCAA team is the top ten finishers in the eight game All-Events Competition. The team consisted of Byran Foote of Kellogg CC, Jacob Lewis and Logan Hahn of Ancilla College, Jacob O'Donnell of Kellogg CC, Garland of Muskegon CC, Bradlee Ramsey of Jackson College, Allen of Schoolcraft College, Gahns of St. Clair County CC, Brown of Schoolcraft College and Baldwin of Jackson College.  Baldwin was the MCCAA Men's Bowler of the Year. The MCCAA Coach of the Year is Patrick Yelsik of Schoolcraft College.

Many of the teams and bowlers will be back at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing on April 7-9, 2021 for the NJCAA Men's Bowling Championships.
