Mid Michigan College men's bowling claims first MCCAA bowling title

The Mid Michigan College men's bowling team claimed their first every MCCAA men's bowling championship on Friday at Royal Scot Lanes in Lansing, MI. They Lakers totaled 8,515 pins for the eight regular games and eight baker games of the tournament. St. Clair County CC finished second with 8.376 pins for the tournament finishing 85 pins ahead of Jackson College. Mid Michigan and St. Clair County advance to the NJCAA Men's Bowling Championship in Erie, NY on March 6-7. 

As for the individual competition, Jared McCormick of St. Clair County CC shot a 630 series to finish three pins ahead of Keegan Campbell of Jackson Colege and Matt Hoard of Mid Michigan College for the singles title. The doubles team of Tycen Ogden and Jacob Lewis of Ancilla College combined to post a 1289 series to win the double championship over Jose Gahns and Kylar Marinez of St. Clair County CC by 38 pin. The All-Event championship went to Matt Hoard of Mid Michigan College with a 1647 to defeat Lewis by 24 pins.  

The All-MCCAA team was Lewis, Hoard, Gahns, Ferrial Ellis of Wayne County CCD and Austin Castillo of Mid Michigan College. The All-Freshman Team is Lewis, Gahns, Ellis. Taylor Haines of Ancilla, Jonathan Garland of Muskegon CC and Alan Brown of Schoolcraft College. Lewis is the Freshman of the Year. Ryan Harkrader of Mid Michigan College was the MCCAA Coach of the Year.
