Former Jackson College pitcher gets first MLB win in Major League debut

Calab Baragar made his Major League debut for the San Francisco Giants today and picked up his first Major League victory. Baragar pitched two innings, the fifth and sixth, allowing no runs, no hits, no walks and struck out one. He faced five batters, throwing 19 pitches with 14 strikes. He entered the game with a runner on in the fifth. He got Max Muncy to fly out to center and Mookie Betts to line into a double play to end the fifth.

In the sixth, He got Cody Bellinger to pop out to shortstop. The struck out Justin Turner on just three pitches. On his next pitch he got Corey Seagar to line out to left field. Since the starter did not go five innings, Caleb was awarded the win under the most effective reliever rule.

Baragar was drafted in the ninth round of the 2016 MLB Draft and pitched most of the year in AA last year. He was named MVP of the AAA Championship as he led the Sacramento River Cats (San Francisco's AAA Team) to the title.
