Bio
Katie has recently completed her 5th season as Mott’s Head Coach. For the second time under her direction, the team qualified for the Division II NJCAA National Tournament. The Bears have also been the Eastern Conference Champions for the last 5 seasons. Under Naves’ leadership, she has developed players for All American recognition, as well as numerous All Conference and All Regional. The last couple of years, Mott has also sent around a dozen athletes on to the next level to continue their volleyball career.
Coach Naves is someone who is known for maximizing her players to their fullest potential and encourages positive attitudes on and off the court! There is a strong sense of “family” that is within the volleyball program.
Coach Naves brings a high level of knowledge and motivation to the program.
Coach Naves’ main goal is to create well-rounded players on the court, as well as in the community and classroom. She strives to enhance the volleyball talents of her players, while developing their leadership skills, self-discipline, and work ethic.
She brings a high level of expertise and motivation to the volleyball program. With over 10 years of coaching experience, including AAU and high school level, as well as elite volleyball camps with MSU and All-American Volleyball. Katie earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Education while playing 4 years of volleyball at Central Michigan University.
She currently teaches Physical Education at Flint Cultural Center Academy in Flint.
