Macomb's Tounsel Garners MCCAA Eastern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week15
Tamia Tounsel, a sophomore forward for Macomb Community College, has been selected as the MCCAA Eastern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week15, signaling her fifth award this season and the sixth time a Monarch has been cited. She previously earned the award during weeks 2, 3, 4 and 9.
The Macomb, Mich., product led Macomb CC to a 2-0 record with road wins at Mott and 17th-ranked St. Clair County Community College, averaging a double-double of 20.0 points and 16 rebounds per game while shooting 61.9 percent from the field (13-21). She had 23 points and 18 rebounds against the Bears, and 17 points and 14 rebounds in the upset of the nationally-ranked Skippers.
