2023 MCCAA / NJCAA Region XII Softball Awards Have Been Released
The Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA) announced its 2023 Softball Awards Wednesday (May 31) following the completion of another memorable season on the diamond. The awards were voted on by the conference softball coaches.
Oakland CC's Sammy Michael took home Eastern Conference Player of the Year, while Mid Michigan College's Heidi Nagel won Northern Conference Player of the Year and Lansing CC's Morgen Ahlfeld earned Western Conference Player of the Year honors. Freshman of the Year award winners were as follows: Taryn Murphy of Mott CC was tabbed Eastern Conference Freshman of the Year, Mid Michigan College's Heidi Nagel was voted the Northern Conference's top freshman and Paige Antcliff of Lansing CC earned Western Conference Freshman of the Year.
Jamie Corona (Oakland CC) was named MCCAA Coach of the Year while the respective conference awards went to: Terry Warner, Mott CC (Eastern Conference Coach of the Year), Greg Welch, Mid Michigan College (Northern Conference Coach of the Year) and Jamie Vandenburgh, Jackson College (Western Conference Coach of the Year).
