MCCAA Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships are Saturday at Calvin College

For the first time since the mid 90's, the MCCAA cross country championships will not be held at Grand Woods Park in Lansing but a Calvin College's Gainey Athletic Complex on Saturday. 18 men's teams and 17 women's teams will compete for the title. The women's five kilometer race will start at 12 PM and Lansing Community College and Grand Rapids Community College look to be the favorites to take home the title. Among the top runners are Barbara DeGood and Olivia Vanderwey of Lansing, Amy Rowan of Oakland Community College and Kaylee Scott of Grand Rapids are all in the mix for Runner of the Year honors. 

On the men's side, Lansing, Grand Rapids and St. Clair County Community have all been near the top during the regular season with Lansing being the favorite. When it comes to the individual side one name that has been the first runner across the line in every race and this is Kyler Dean of Muskegon. Dean has dominated all four races he has run among two year runners. The men's eight kilometer race will begin at 1 PM. The top 18 men's finishers and the top 17 women's finishers will earn All-MCCAA honors.
