Brian Alumbaugh Named Inaugural Men's Soccer Coach for SC4 Skippers

PORT HURON, Mich. – St. Clair County Community College director of athletics Dale Vos announced on May 1 that Brian Alumbaugh has been named the first head men's soccer coach for the Skippers following a national search. The Skippers will play their inaugural season this fall in the 2024-25 school year.

"I am very excited to have Brian join the staff and lead in the building of our new men's soccer team." Vos said. "I have great confidence in Brian's ability and impressive resume to be able to lay a strong foundation and build something special at SC4 and within the MCCAA.

That impressive resume starts at Long Island University where Alumbaugh played two years of Division 1 soccer before transferring to Michigan State University to finish up his undergrad. After those two years he continued his playing career at Robert Morris University as a graduate transfer.

Following his playing career Brian jumped into coaching and has nearly a decade of experience. He has coached numerous club teams including some in New Zealand, Ohio, Michigan, and Norway. Alumbaugh was also an assistant and interim head coach at Muskingum University.

Brian is currently the recreation Director at Rochester Soccer Club and he runs the Elite 100 College ID Camps which he founded in 2022. He has a Master's Degree in Adult Education from Muskingum and a Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology with a minor in coaching from Michigan State University.

"This is a very unique opportunity to be able to help start the soccer team from scratch and I'm excited to get in there, get some guys, and build this program into something special!" said Alumbaugh.
