GRCC Sweeps MCCAA Northern Conference Baseball Week5 Accolades
For the second time in three weeks, Grand Rapids Community College has swept the MCCAA Northern Conference Baseball week 5 awards. Freshmen Canyen Veldhouse (Caledonia, Mich.) and Xavier Allen (Reed City, Mich.) is the pitcher and player of the week, respectively.
The former pitched a complete-game shutout victory. In six innings, he struck out nine and walked just one while allowing just four hits. He produced a 0.83 WHIP.
At the plate, Allen slashed .571/.667/.714 in 14 at-bats over five games. He drew four walks, scored seven runs and had three runs batted in.
