The Lansing Community College baseball team was eliminated from the NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series with a 7-0 loss to Florida State College-Jacksonville on Tuesday afternoon. The Stars finish their season with a 44-11 overall record. They won the Region XII Championship, the MCCAA Eastern Conference Championship and were MCCAA Co-Championship.
Lansing fell behind early giving up two runs in the first and three runs in the second to jump out to a 5-0 lead. The Stars could only scrape out seven hits against the two Blue Wave pitchers. Hunter Lay (Chelsea, MI/Chelsea) was the only Lansing batter with two hits. Lay and pinch hitter Brendan Ham (Hudsonville, MI/Hudsonville) each had a double. Lukas Brewer (Grandville, MI/Grandville) started and took the loss.
