Grand Rapids' 16 hits powers them to an 8-2 win over number five Kellogg CC

Grand Rapids Community College pounded out 16 singles in rout to an 8-2 upset of fifth ranked Kellogg Community in the second game of the second round of the NJCAA Region XII Division II Baseball Tournament. Kellogg Community College opened the scoring, picking up a run in each of the first two innings. Grand Rapids took the lead for good in the top of the fourth when they scored three runs. The Raiders tacked on a run in the fifth and exploded from four more in the sixth. 

Ryan Dykstra paced the Raiders going four for five with two RBI and a run scored. Camden Keatley was three for five with a run and an RBI. Jerad Berkenpas went all nine innings, scattering seven hits, allowing two runs, both earned, striking out three and walking none. 

Tate Peterson lead the Bruins going two for four with an RBI. Ashton Potts took the loss for the Bruins. Kellogg will face Edison State CC at 6:15 tonight in an elimination game. Grand Rapids CC will face Lansing CC at 1 PM on Friday in the winners bracket final.
