Grand Rapids women's cross country finishes third at Jayhawk Invitational

The Grand Rapids Community College women's cross country team finished third at today's Jayhawk Invitational. Calvin College won the meet with 17 points, while Siena Heights was second. St. Clair County Community College finished fourth, while Jackson College placed sixth in the meet. Kellogg Community College was seventh, host Muskegon Community College was eighth and Oakland Community College finished tenth. 

In the individual race, Annie Needs of Calvin College won the race, completing the five kilometer course in 18:14.74. Audrey Meyering of Grand Rapids was the top MCCAA finisher in 15th place in a time of 20:06.49. Kiah Becker, who had won the three previous races, was 20th. Olivia Hubbard of Jackson College was 22nd, while Macy Whipple of Muskegon Community College was 23rd. Catilyn Rogers of St. Clair placed 24th. 

The next meet is the MCCAA/NJCAA Region XII Champions at Grand Woods Park in Lansing, MI on Saturday, October 31. The best teams an individuals from the meet will advance to the NJCAA Women's Cross Country National Champions on Saturday, November 14 at Iowa Central Community College in Fort Dodge, IA.
