Delta College women's soccer falls in National Championship Match

For the third consecutive year, the Delta College women's soccer team fell in the NJCAA Division III women's soccer National Championship match to finish runner ups. The Pioneers finish the the season with a 17-1-1 overall record, after dropping the championship match to Brookhaven College 2-0. 

The match was scoreless in the first half, then in the 49th minute, Brookhaven's Kelsey Vickery picked up a loose ball in the box and fired home for the match winning goal. In the 75th minute, Victoria Sifuentes took a one touch pass in the box from Erin Lincoln to seal the victory. 

Alex Heeke of Delta College was named the Most Valuable Defensive Player of the Tournament, while Hannah Emington, McKenna Fluder and Claire Rousse were named to the All-Tournament team. This is the third straight season the Pioneers have finished second in Division III women's soccer.
