Muskegon CC set to host MCCAA wrestling championship on Saturday

The 2020 MCCAA wrestling championship will be held Saturday, January 25 at Muskegon Community College. The tournament will start at 11:00 AM at Bartels-Rode Gym on the Muskegon CC campus. This is the second year in a row the Jayhawks are hosting the champions after wrestling was reinstated as a MCCAA after a 38 year hiatus. Muskegon has won the last seven MCCAA championship dating back to the 1974-75 season. They have won nine of the 14 championships awarded. Grand Rapids CC has three and Schoolcraft College has two.

This year the team competing are Ancilla College, Henry Ford College, Muskegon Community College and St. Clair County Community College. Henry Ford is ranked 13th in the latest NJCAA wrestling poll.

Champions will be crowned in ten weight classes and a team champion will also be crowned. All weight class champions will earn All-MCCAA honors.
