Mid Michigan completes season sweep with first MCCAA Women's Bowling championship

The Mid Michigan College women's bowling team has dominated the entire bowling season and that did not change at the MCCAA Women's Bowling Championship on Friday at Royal Scott Lanes in Lansing, MI. The Lakers lead wire to wire to claim a 193 pin win over Jackson College. The battle for second came down to the last frame of the last baker game and Jackson won by just eight pins over Muskegon CC. Both Mid Michigan and Jackson have qualified for the NJCAA Women's Bowling Championship in Erie, NY on March 6-7. Mid Michigan finished with 7.626 pins, Jackson had 7.433 and Muskegon had 7,425. 

Meagan Batka of Muskegon continued her great season claiming the MCCAA singles title with a 571 series. She was 32 pins better than Mackenzie Weston and Victoria Ivey of Mid Michigan College. Mikayla Woodrow and Hallie Weaver of Mid Michigan shot a six game total of 1,098 to claim the doubles title over Jessica Badley and Dawn Judd of St. Clair County Community College. The All-Event Championship went to Marissa Wood of Jackson College who shot 1,455 to beat Woodrow by 11 pins. 

The All-MCCAA team is Wood, Woodrow, Batka, Zoe Chrchiori of Muskegon CC, Lailah Maull of Jackson College and Weaver. The All-Freshman team is comprised of Wood, Maull, Weaver, Weston, Allison Little, Schoolcraft College and Rylan Jackson, Schoolcraft. The Freshman of the Year is Marissa Wood of Jackson College. The MCCAA Coach of the Year is Ryan Harkrader of Mid Michigan College.
