Mid Michigan advances to Great Lakes West District final with a convincing win

The Mid Michigan College women's basketball team rolled to the NJCAA Division II Great Lakes West District Championship game with a convincing 78-42 win over Ancilla College on Thursday. The Lakers took a 18-8 lead at the end of the first quarter and never looked back.

Mid Michigan was lead by Savannah Peplinski with 27 points and seven rebounds. Amelia McNutt chipped in 21 points, while Steffi Kracko added 18 points and five assists. Kaitlyn Ray had 14 rebounds, seven steals and five assists.

Ancilla was paced by Jaela Meister with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Talia Bee chipped in had ten points and eight rebounds. Emily Richards had nine points and seven rebounds. The Chargers finish the season with a 15-14 record.

The Lakers, who improve to 27-3 overall, will face either Grand Rapids CC or Muskegon CC in the NJCAA Division II Great Lakes West District Final on Saturday at 12 PM at Ford Fieldhouse in Grand Rapids.
