Lake Michigan College ranked 14th in NJCAA Division II women's basketball pre-season poll

The NJCAA Division II women's basketball pre-season poll is out and Lake Michigan College is ranked 14th. The Red Hawks finished last season with a 28-7 overall record and won the MCCAA Western Conference championship with a 16-2 mark. They won the MCCAA title by beating Mott CC in the MCCAA Women's Basketball Championship Game. They also won the NJCAA District G Championship to advance to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament where they went 2-2. They will open this season when they face Bryant & Stratton (WI) College at the Kalamazoo Valley CC Invitational. 

Wayne County Commmunity College District is in the other schools receiving votes category in the pre-season rankings. The Wildcats finished 20-13 overall and 10-6 in the MCCAA Eastern Conference and won the NJCAA District H Tournament to qualify for the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball National Tournament where they finished in seventh place. They will open the new season on November 1 when they travel to Elyria, OH to face Lorain County Community College. 

Muskegon Community College is also in the other schools receiving votes category in the pre-season poll. The Jayhawks finished 23-5 overall and 15-3 in the MCCAA Western Conference and lost in the quarter-finals of the NJCAA District G Tournament. They will open the season on November 2 when the host Aquinas College JV.
