Jackson College wins Kirtland CC Invitational by just three pins

The Jackson College men's bowling team were down to Mid Michigan College by 143 pins coming into the last two baker games on Friday at the Kirtland CC Invitational. They shot 433 for the two game set, while the Lakers shot only 287 to give the Jets a 3 pin win. Mid Michigan College game out of the three game team set with a 183 pin lead over Jackson College. The Lakers shot 1,023 in the first game and 1,092 in the third game. Mid Michigan extended the lead by ten more pins after the first two baker games. The Jets cut the lead to 117 after the second baker set. Mid Michigan added 26 pins to their lead in the third baker set, before the Jets stage a comeback in the fourth set. Jackson finished with a total pin fall of 4,562 to Mid Michigan College's 4,559. St. Clair County Community College finished third with 4,220 pins. The tournament was held at the Gaylord Bowling Center in Gaylord, MI

Matt Hoard of Mid Michigan College claimed the singles title with a series of 647 with games fo 221, 219 and 207 for the three game set. Kylar Marinez had the men's high game with a 279 in the second game of the team set.  The next tournament for the MCCAA men's bowling teams is Friday when Schoolcraft College with host the Schoolcraft College Invitational at Merri-Bowl Lanes in Livonia, MI. Action starts at 11:00 AM.
