Lansing CC brings home NJCAA Division II women's cross country title, MCCAA nets four All-Americans

The Lansing Community College women's cross country team brought home the NJCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday. The Stars claimed their 5th Division II championship and seventh overall. Haley Ellis was the Stars top finisher, coming in 5th in a time of 18:57.2. That earned her NJCAA Division II First Team All-American honors. Angela Jaycox finished ninth in a time of 19:21.7 to earn NJCAA Division II Second Team All-American honors. Lansing place all five scoring runners in the top 34. 

Grand Rapids Community College finished seventh just six points behind Allen (KS) Community College. The Raiders had two NJCAA Honorable Mention All-Americans. Kaylee Scott ran the 5,000 meter course in 19:29.5 to finish 14th, while Audrey Meyering finished 15th in a time of 19:35.9. 

St. Clair County Community College finished ninth at the National Championship. The Skippers were lead by Lily Connelly finishing 49th in a time of 20:38.8. 

Other individual runner faring well at the race were Raegan Lockhart of Muskegon Community College finishing 52nd in a time of 20:42.5, while Jayhawks Macy Whipple was 70th with a clocking of 21:12.2. Haley Pressley of Jackson was 72nd in a time of 21:15.1.

At the Division III meet in Milledgeville, GA, Kellogg Community College Jena Adams finished 38th in a time of 23:06.10, while Ana Pace was 68th with a time of 25:31.07.
