Three MCCAA in NJCAA Division II Pre-Season Volleyball Poll

The Grand Rapids Community College volleyball team is one of three Michigan Community College Athletic Association teams in the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Pre-Season Poll. Muskegon Community College and Mott Community College are the other teams in the poll.

Grand Rapids is ranked eighth in the poll after winning the MCCAA Western Conference and the MCCAA Championship. The Raiders finished 27-3 overall last season and went 16-0 in the Western Conference. The Raiders lost in the champioship of the NJCAA District F Tournament to Owens (OH) Community College. They will open their 2018 season on August 28 when they travel to Centreville, MI to face Glen Oaks Community College. 

Mott Community College is ranked 15th in the pre-season rankings. The Bears won both the MCCAA Eastern Conference and the NJCAA District E Tournament last season. They had a 29-9 overall record and a 11-1 mark in the Eastern Conference. The Bears qualified for the NJCAA Division II National Tournament in Charlestown, WV and went 0-2 at the tournament. They will open the season, on August 31 in Perrysburg, OH when they participate in the Owens Invitational. 

Muskegon Community College is ranked 20th in the poll. The Jayhawks finished second in the MCCAA Western Conference last season with 14-2 conference mark and a 26-17 overall record. They finished third in the NJCAA District F Tournament last season. They will open the 2018 campaign on August 22 at 6:30 PM when they face Kalamazoo Valley Community College in Kalamazoo, MI.
