Muskegon CC's women's bowling team leads wire to wire at the Kirtland CC Invitational

The Muskegon Community College women's bowling team opened the Kirtland CC Invitational of Friday with a team game of 1,073 and never looked back as they claimed their first tournament win of the season. The Jayhawks finished 444 pins ahead of Mid Michigan College. Muskegon shot team games of 1,073, 1,014 and 998 for a total of 3,085 for the three game set to lead by 529 pins over the Lakers. Mid Michigan tried to make a comeback in the middle baker sets shooting 401 and 382 for each of the two game sets, but could not catch the Jayhawks. The tournament was held at the Gaylord Bowling Center in Gaylord, MI. 

Muskegon's Zoe Cerchiori won the singles championship by shooting 633 for the three game set. Her scores were 185, 233 and 215. The Jayhawks Meagan Batka won the women's high game by shooting a 276 in her first game of the tournament. All the MCCAA will be in Livonia, MI on Friday for the Schoolcraft College Invitational, which will be held at Merri-Bowl Lanes.
