Macomb's Tounsel Repeats MCCAA Eastern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week16
Tamia Tounsel, a sophomore forward for Macomb Community College, has been selected as the MCCAA Eastern Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week16, signaling her sixth award this season and the seventh time a Monarch has been cited. She previously earned the award during weeks 2, 3, 4, 9 and 15.
The Macomb, Mich., product led Macomb CC to a 2-0 record as part of a five-game winning streak, averaging 20.5 points, 13.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 assists. She also shot 56 percent from the field. Tounsel has recorded 16 double-doubles on the season, including in nine of 11 conference games.
