The Mid Michigan College women's basketball team defeated #19 - Muskegon Community College 71-58 on Saturday to win the NJCAA Division II Great Lakes District Women's Basketball Championship at Ford Fieldhouse. The Lakers used a 16-7 third quarter to put Muskegon away.
The Jayhawks were led by Yasmine Colon with 21 points and eight rebounds, while Kacy Jefferies had 12 points. Iyana Brown had 9 points and 13 rebounds, while Tierra Williams grabbed 11 rebounds and had four assists. Muskegon season ends with a 25-5 record.
