Muskegon CC men's basketball team survives comeback bid to win MCCAA Men's Basketball title

The Muskegon Community College men's basketball team was up 83-71 with 3:46 left in the second half and seemed to be cruising to the the MCCAA Men's Basketball Championship. Schoolcraft College had other plans and outscored the Jayhawks 18-9 over the last 3:46 to come with in three. Schoolcraft missed a full court three point attempt at the buzzer that would have tied the game. In the end, Muskegon won the game 92-89 to win their third MCCAA Men's Basketball Championship and first since 1945-46. 

Muskegon CC was lead by Jerome Bivins with 23 points and eight rebounds, while Travez Nyx added 21 points and six rebounds. Kylan Shipp added 16 points, six rebounds, while Jermayne Goliday chipped in 13 points and seven rebounds. Vejus Grazulis had 12 points, 10 rebounds and six assists for the Jayhawks. 

Schoolcraft College was led by D'Quarion Cole with 20 points and seven rebounds, while Carl Bow, Jr. had 10 points, eight assists and seven rebounds. Kemon Bassett had 16 points and seven rebounds, while David Wren chipped in 11 points. Randy Gilber added 10 points of the bench for the Ocelots. 

Muskegon CC will play again on Friday at 3:00 PM in the NJCAA Great Lakes West Men's Basketball District Semi-Finals at Grand Rapids Community College. Schoolcraft will also be back on the court Friday in the NJCAA Great Lakes East Men's Basketball District Semi-Final. The game is at 7:30 PM at Grand Rapids Community College.
