Bio

Tod Hess enters his 26th year as the Michigan Community College Athletic Association Information Director. He has also served as the Secretary for the organization since 2008. Hess is responsible for maintaining the MCCAA website and social media accounts. He is at all MCCAA championships. Hess also conducts all the MCCAA Player of the Week, pre-season coaches' polls and MCCAA Player of the Week voting. He also serves as the MCCAA golf chair and on the publicity committee. He also runs the NJCAA Region XII website and social media and works for Mott Community College doing stats and social media. 

Hess, a lifelong Clarkston resident, a graduate from Saginaw Valley State University. While attending SVSU he started working in the Sports Information office where he quickly realized that he had found his career. Right of college he went to work for his High School football coach at Waterford Mott High School doing computerized stats for their football.  He was named Statistician for the Year for 1994 by The Oakland Press. 

During that time, he was also the SID for the Michigan Football League, where he met Oakland Community College's assistant women's basketball coach who asked him to do the women's basketball stats for the 95-96 season. The next year he was hired as the SID and worked there until 2008. He started working for NJCAA Region XII in 2008.  In 2011, he went to work at Schoolcraft College and worked there until 2017, when he started at Mott Community College. 

Hess is a member of the SVSU Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1989 NAIA National Championship Softball Team. He has received the Ron Marshall Award for his work with NJCAA Division II Golf Nationals. He has worked at the Division II Golf National Championship, all but three years since 2005. The MCCAA has awarded him the Distinguished Service Award and an Appreciation Award.

A two-time kidney transplant recipient, Hess is passionate about organ donation awareness.
